At Bundamba State School, we are committed to ensuring every student feels supported, challenged and successful in their learning journey. We believe that every child can achieve their full potential when they are known, valued and provided with high-quality learning opportunities. Our dedicated teachers carefully plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of all learners, ensuring every student can access the curriculum and experience success.

Prep – Year 2

The early years of schooling provide the foundation for a lifetime of learning. In Prep to Year 2, our teachers create nurturing, engaging and stimulating learning environments where students develop strong literacy, numeracy and social skills.

Our curriculum is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and incorporates age-appropriate pedagogies that recognise how young children learn best through play, inquiry, explicit teaching and hands-on experiences. Through a balance of structured learning and exploration, students build confidence, independence and a love of learning.

InitiaLit

Students in Prep to Year 2 participate in InitiaLit, an evidence-based literacy program that supports the development of strong reading, spelling and writing skills. Through explicit and systematic instruction, students build essential foundational literacy skills, including phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. InitiaLit provides a structured pathway for success, ensuring all students develop the confidence and capability needed to become successful readers and writers.

Years 3 – 6

As students progress through the upper primary years, we continue to build on the strong foundations established in the early years. Teaching and learning in Years 3 to 6 is guided by the Australian Curriculum and focuses on developing the knowledge, skills and dispositions students need to thrive both academically and personally.

At Bundamba State School, we work in partnership with parents, carers and families to ensure that every day, in every classroom, every student is learning and achieving. Through high expectations, evidence-based teaching practices and a commitment to continuous improvement, we support students to become confident, capable and successful learners who are prepared for the transition to secondary school and beyond.

Our commitment to belonging, engagement and excellence ensures that every child is supported to reach their personal best.
